Grinding It Out at the Microlimits

Recall post (not too detailed because it happened a while ago)

I think that am only going to play shorthanded, since apparently that's where the money is. I believe that 6 handed takes needs skill, more post flop play, more aggression, and is generally faster.

Another reason, is that these are the games where Taylor Caby, CTS, and other internet hotshots started. If they can play 6-handed, so can I.

I buy into the 0.01c/0.02c games for $1 dollar and play at 4 tables. Before long...I'm up 17 bucks at like a pace of 28BB/100 hands, which is really good. People playing at these limits, don't really understand the game, or are just plain bad, and don't care because it's just pennies.

I don't follow my bankroll management tips and jump into the 0.02c/0.05c games with about 28 dollars in BR (in essence it should have been $50). I'll try not to cheat (up to this point, I didn't start making my blog yet, so I sorta skimp on the rules a bit). I end up winning even more. I feel this a good level to learn how to play 6 handed. I feel I have a slight edge against these players and only buy in for the minimum of 2 dollars.

For some reason, I'm playing with scared money, I play a hit and run style and not let my stacks too high on any tables. I feel, due to my aggression, and I might donk off a deep stack if I keep playing with it.

I also started playing PLO, at 0.02c/0.05c, these games are fun for someone like me who loves aggression. I end up doing pretty well in the PLO, and it helps my bankroll a bit, the full numbers will come when I post my Pokertracker stats.

These micro limits are pretty tough, I mean, it is hard to grind it out at these levels. It took a bunch of hands at these levels to help me get comfortable with the style of play. I know that this style of play will not get me to the $50/$100 6-max. But I feel, these fundamentals + the things I pick up along the way and my adjustments will help me get where I want to be.

After a few ups and downs, and a couple of weeks of grinding, I manage to build my BR to about 90 dollars. I still can't believe Chris Ferguson took 6 months to get his cash stabilized at $6.25.

I had actually set a goal for myself to have $50 dollar by Christmas, I guess I'm way ahead of schedule.
