What is the Million Dollar Challenge?
This is a challenge for myself, to see if I can do... what I ultimately know I can do. It challenges me to study, manage money, be disciplined, and most importantly to have fun doing what I love to do. All the things that life requires.
Play Poker.
These are the terms and conditions of the challenge:
1) I will start with exactly $0 Dollars for a bankroll. I can not deposit ANY money into any poker website unless it is transferred from my Pokerstars account.
2) I can only play in games with proper bankroll management.
-Limit Poker 300BB
-No-limit Poker 25 Buyins
3) If I lose 150 BB or 12 buyins I have to move down a level until I can take another shot at a high stake.
4) I will "try" to play once I have finished my school work and have spent appropriate time with friends, family, and girlfriend. In other words, I will not become a hermit poker player.
5) I will continue finish my post secondary education, no matter how fast I make a million dollars.
6) I will use Poker Tracker to track all my results.
7) The money that I withdraw from my accounts for personal use will be deducted from my bankroll.
8) I will stop playing when I am on tilt.
9) I will buy myself a personal computer for poker, once my bankroll reaches $15000.
10) I will add new rules as I see fit, but I think this covers almost everything.
THE GOAL:
To be Rumpelstiltskin and turn $0 dollars into $1,000,000 by Dec 1, 2011, playing poker.
It may seem challenging, but I absolutely believe it is possible.
Brian's Poker Career
I have had some success at poker in the past couple of years. I deposted $50 dollars into PartyPoker and won the $20k Guaranteed tournament for a cool $4700. I followed this be entering my first 7 Card Stud tournament and won approximately $1800. I followed this up with another small win for about $500. I withdrew almost all my money for tuition and personal use which I probably shouldn't have (not good for poker bankroll). I donked off the rest of what I had playing small games and tourneys.
Now, I feel that I am smarter, more disciplined, ready to learn, and ready to play.
I truly believe that you can do anything, if you put your mind to it.
So, join my on my journey, there will be lots of ups, many downs, and a lot of learning.
